Back from break

Well I had to let a few things go the past couple of weeks because life has gotten a little crazy. There's been a death in the family, hubby hurt his back, and my mother-in-law got laid off. Abby is gearing up for piano recital and dance recital. The child is only 5 years old, but is in 3 separate songs for the dance recital. This pregnancy has drained a lot of my energy, and it doesn't help that we're short staffed at work right now. I failed my glucose test and had to do the 3 hour glucose test. All I can say is that it really sucked. I drank the nastiness at 9am and stayed in the doctor's office until 12pm, when I left with 2 holes in each arm where blood was drawn 4 times. I was completely useless the rest of the day. The only think I can compare it to was a really bad hangover from my college days. I was happy when I found out that I passed, but then I got a little pissed that they tortured me for nothing. At least I'm in the home stretch now. My third trimester actually starts today. I should get hubby to take a couple of pictures of my belly, since I haven't taken any. Abby is so excited about baby Ava coming, and the other day she told me she wants to be there when she's born. That's not gonna happen because I'd be too worried about her the whole time. I told her mommy would be in lots of pain and that I might be crying a lot. Her response was "I can handle it". She can come visit after the drama. Well that's about it for the craziness that is my life right now.

Happy Mother's Day

Being a mom is one of the most difficult, yet one of the most rewarding jobs I've ever had. Although I probably complain more than I should, I'm proud to be Abby's mommy. She gave me 2 pictures she's been saving all week. What I treasure most is the look on her face and how proud she was to give me those pictures. Baby Ava will be here before I know it. It will add a lot more stress to my life, but also so many more blessings. I think of the coworker trying to get pregnant without success. I don't take my kids for granted. I'm more proud of my role as mom than anything else I've ever done in my life. To my fellow moms, take a moment to reflect on how lucky you really are and give the kids a big, slobbery kiss.

Cinco de Mayo yummy recipe

Cinco de Mayo celebrates the day that 4000 Mexican soldiers smashed the French and traitor Mexican army of 8,000 at Puebla, Mexico on the morning of May 5th, 1862. In honor of Cinco de Mayo, I posted a recipe for Churros on my Examiner.com column. Please check it out and enjoy!

BabyGanics Review

I had the pleasure of reviewing some products from BabyGanics and was asked to review them on my blog.

BabyGanics is a line of products developed by a couple of new dads who where not happy with the cleaning products available to them. They felt that even the products that were so-called "green" still had ingredients that were too harsh. They state on their website that the BabyGanics products "clean like crazy and are safe around babies: earth safe, people safe and picky mother-in-law safe". This is a plus to me considering the fact that I have a young child and a baby on the way.

I was surprised when I received my package at all the products I received. They included the All Purpose Cleaner, the Air Freshener and Odor Eliminator, Dish Dazzler, The Germinator, The Grime Fighter wipes. I must say I was pleasantly surprised at the effectiveness of the products. They all worked quite well. I wasn't sure if I'd like the dish soap, but I was happy with the results I got. It had a very clean smell to it and actually made lots of bubbles, which I wasn't expecting. The Air Freshener has a great smell that lasts for awhile. I honestly couldn't tell a difference between the All Purpose Cleaner and the cleaners that I normally use. My favorite product was the wipes. They were large and didn't fall apart while in use. They had a great smell and cleaned quite well. I must say they were my favorite product.

Please take a look at the BabyGanics website. They have a lot more products that even the ones I tried, and you can order from the site. The prices are reasonable, and I don't think you'll be disappointed with the cleaning results.
