Harry Connick, Jr. "Your Songs"

I'm a big fan of Harry Connick, Jr. for many reasons. He's a talented musician, singer, and actor. I must say he's pretty easy to look at as well. I jumped at the opportunity to review his new CD, Your Songs, which became available on September 22nd. One2one Network sent me a copy of the CD and asked for an honest review in return.

Your Songs is a collection of standards you're most likely to recognize. I put it in my laptop and listened early in the morning as I checked email and started my day. I found it very relaxing and really enjoyed it. This music is not everyone's cup of tea. As a matter of fact, my husband came into the room and said he felt as though he was in an elevator. I enjoyed it and will be listening to it regularly. My favorite song on the CD is First Time Ever I Saw Your Face. I'm also a big fan of All The Way. With Christmas coming up, this CD would make a great gift for someone. You can hear samples of the songs and purchase the CD by clicking here.

Great Night at Disney On Ice!

We were lucky enough to receive tickets from Mom Central to the opening night of Disney On Ice in Cincinnati last night. I decided not to tell Abby until before school yesterday because this child will drive you crazy when there is an upcoming event. Her best friend is her cousin, Angel, and so she invited Angel to go to the show with her. My mother-in-law was going to come along, but we decided she would stay with my husband and Ava. Hubby has not been alone with the baby for that long yet, and he was a little nervous about it. So, I was the lone adult in this adventure with the kids.

We were invited to a meet and greet before the show. The girls felt so special because there were big gift bags waiting on them when we arrived. They had a great time looking at all their goodies. We also had a special visit from Mickey and Minnie. I loved the look on Abby's face when they arrived. When it was time for her to meet them, though, she got a little nervous. She also wanted to know why they weren't talking. That was a little hard to explain.

We had great seats for the show. We got to see a lot of the characters from several of the most popular Disney movies. Of course, Abby was mostly excited to see the princesses. I have to admit, I got pretty excited when Cinderella made her appearance.

The toy soldiers from Toy Story were very cool.

Lion King was also a popular part of the show.

Overall, it was a great time that the kids really enjoyed. I would recommend bringing a jacket, because it's a little chilly.

You also can go to the show in Cincinnati for a discount. You can purchase a 4 pack of tickets to a weekday show for $44 or $4 off weekend tickets by entering the code MOM in the promotion code box at Ticketmaster. The show is running through September 27th. Have fun and take lots of pictures!

Time flies...

Male pattern baldness...

Well, Ava will be 4 weeks old tomorrow. Where does the time go? It seems like it was only yesterday that Abby was a baby. Now she's 5 going on 13. Ava is doing well. She's a good baby compared to Abby as a baby. She does look pretty rough right now. The poor thing has developed baby acne and has eczema on her forehead. As if that's not enough, she's also losing her hair. I was really hoping she wouldn't have eczema. Abby had it pretty bad as a baby. Ava doesn't look as bad but I hate that she has it at all.

Abby has had a tough week. I think all the recent changes have finally caught up to her. She's been very emotional lately. She cried every day this past week about various things. I'm not talking just a few tears. I'm talking crying like she just lost her best friend. If things don't go her way, she falls apart. She's been defiant at times as well. I'm trying to be understanding, but she is definitely testing me.

It's time to get on the weight loss kick. One of my favorite things about being pregnant is that I don't worry at all about my weight. I've already lost all of my pregnancy weight, but I already had plenty of weight to lose. I started the 30 day challenge on my Wii Sports Active last week, but I only managed to get in 2 days. I need to work really hard to work it into my day. I think posting my progress will help me with motivation to do what I need to do. We shall see.

Temple Touch Thermometer Review/Giveaway

I'm very excited to have the opportunity to review the Reli On Temple Touch Thermometer on my blog. This couldn't have come along at a better time. I've been interested in purchasing one of the thermometers used on the forehead, but having been waiting on a good deal. They are pretty expensive. With a new baby in the house and a daughter starting kindergarten, it's important for me to have an accurate thermometer. Abby did get the flu last year and ran a fever for several days. We got a lot of use out of our old school thermometer. With H1N1 on the rise in our area, I want to be prepared.

You could not find an easier way of checking a temperature. There is one button on the thermometer. Press it once and you'll hear a beep. All you need to do is then wait for two quick beeps and you're ready to take a temperature. Hold the end of the thermometer on the temple area between the eye and hairline. In about 6 seconds, the thermometer will beep again. That's it...all you have to do is read the temperature in the little window. I can take baby Ava's temperature without disturbing her. Abby can even take her own temperature. I know this because I caught her playing with it last night.

The Reli On Temple Touch Thermometer retails for $9.94 at Walmart and Sam's Club. If you'd like the chance to win one, all you need to do is leave me a comment. Make sure I have your email. For extra entries, you can do any or all of the following and comment that you did so:
