Random Tuesday Thoughts

randomtuesday

I'm so happy the weather is finally starting to get warmer. It's that time of year when you get teased with nice weather on one day and then cold and yucky the next day. That's ok with me because those nice days are awesome.

I'm currently looking around for a photographer who'll give me a good price on a session with the girls. I'm such a bad mom that I haven't had a single professional picture taken of baby Ava, who is almost 7 months old. By the time Abby was that old, I think she'd already done this 3 times.

Abby is getting really picky with her eating. It seems all she ever wants is a happy meal or some type of treat. She turns her nose up at dinner every night. If I make something I know she doesn't like, then I'll make her something else. I refuse to make something else if it's something I know she has eaten in the past. It makes her mad but I think it's ridiculous to make her something different unless I know she really doesn't like it. Last night I made a pork roast, mashed potatoes, and peas. She immediately called it "gross". I told her that she would eat it or she would be hungry. Less than 30 minutes later she was telling me how good it was.

We went to a roller skating rink recently. Some things never change. When I was 12 years old and hanging out at the skating rink, there was always "that guy". The guy who was older than everyone and could skate really well. He would stay on the rink the entire time, skating in and out of the other kids, who were stumbling their way around the rink. He would be slightly dancing as he would do this and was just so cool to all of us younger kids. I couldn't believe it, but "that guy" was there. It was so funny. I didn't think he was quite as cool as I did back in the day.

I've got to find Abby something green to wear to school tomorrow. That girl is so nervous that she's gonna get pinched on "King Patrick's Day" (she keeps calling it that even though we correct her). I don't think she had anything green so I may have to run out and get something.

Sometimes children like to push the envelope and see how much they can get away with. My wife with her kids was very good at introducing them to different kinds of foods— nothing was off limits. Now that they are grown and have children of their own I hope that they are as liberal with introducing food to their children as their mother was with them.

Thank you for your randomness,

By the time I got to my 3rd kid I barely even kept a baby book...terrible I know! Happy RTT!

My first child had professional photos done every month. The second about once every six months. The third once in his entire life!
Roller skating was my thing back in my day. I knew all the tricks. Now I'm lucky if I can stay up on the skates.
Happy RTT.

I haven't had a professional photo done AT ALL since my second was born. I mean, my friend who's a pro did some of the boys when they were born but I haven't had a family photo done yet. I suck
