I didn't do a post last week. I was sick with strep throat, which totally sucks.
No weight loss this past week, but progress was made. I gave up soda!! Leah made a comment on Mamavation TV last week about soda being the devil. I don't know why but that really stuck with me and two days later I just stopped. It hasn't been easy but after the first couple of days there was no way I was going back no matter how bad I was craving it.
I got my vitamix blender, and I love it. I've been drinking green smoothies this week, and I've enjoyed playing with the different fruits and greens to see which ones I like the best. I plan to try some healthy soups and a green ice cream. I've also decided to start trying fruits and veggies that I've never tried. I bought a couple persimmons this past week. I found them quite sweet and tasty.
Goals this week:
Green smoothie for both breakfast and lunch with a healthy snack in the afternoon, healthy dinner, and then healthy snack sometime after dinner. Because I work 4 nights a week until 12:30 am and don't get in bed until about 2:30am I have to incorporate that last snack. I just don't want to eat any closer than 2 hours before bed.
The exercise thing is harder. There are no excuses the three days I don't work but the days I work are harder. I'll try to get it in first thing. We have plenty of stairs at work that I can put to use when I'm not too busy. There's no reason not to get in exercise.
I need to get more serious this week. It's been such a tough year that I think I don't go all-in because I have this fear of failure. I need to get over it and do what I need to do. I mean, if I can quit soda I can do anything, right?
This week’s blogging carnival is sponsored by @salonpas.
Our question of the week is:
Have you ever been injured starting a new exercise routine? Tell us about it…If not, do you get any aches and pains? Where?
I've never actually been injured but there was an occasion when I got a little too ambitious with the lunges. Sitting down for about three day was quite an event.
Have a great week, everyone!

Would love to see you post some of your smoothie recipes on the bookieboo.com recipe exchange site! Great goals for the week. Keep up the great work and it will payoff!
awesome job on ditching soda!
I did that 3 weeks after quitting smoking, and it was just as hard!! Keep it up!
Have a great week
Good luck getting more serious this week. You were sick recently and you are rebounding from that. So be reasonable in making a plan for the week and go for it. I am glad you are healthier, now keep that trend.
Baby steps, I tell you. It took me some time to get everything in - food, moving, workout. I am sure I will be able to figure it out. And we are hear to help
Great job on the soda! I love the fact that the longer I go without drinking it, the less I crave it.
Mmm. your smoothies sound yummy. I love my juicer. What is your favorite combo?
Have a great week and take every day one at a time. Keep it up.
Hope you are feeling better this week. I had a sinus infection in December and it SUCKED. Sounds like you have great goals for the week ahead. I love my Shakeology smoothies.
"If I can quit soda, I can do anything, right?"
That's right! You can do this!
Baby steps are SO VERY important! I believe in you :)I'm so proud of you for quitting the soda habit also! WTG! I know you are gonna kick some serious tail :)
Be gentle with yourself. I know how the 'fear of failure' can sabotage our efforts, so be kind to yourself :)
HUGS!

Yay on quitting soda! Green ice cream? you'll have to put a recipe up for us!!
Try doing a week of working out the 3 days you are off and then add. You can do it!
Woohoo for the no-soda!! And I'd love to hear about your recipe for green ice cream too!
Sounds like you're doing a lot of the right things. Use those steps are work, do lunges, push ups, squats. There are tons of ways to work your body without equipment or DVDs. Check www.mizfitonline.com and search her videos for ideas. She's a good friend :-)
Here's to a great week!
I am so jealous of your vitamix!!!!! I want one so incredibly bad, but there's no way Hubby will let me put us in debt for one. I'll have to start saving up, I guess. I would love to see some of your recipes though! Also, great job quitting soda, I'm proud of you!
Superb, brilliant weblog structure! I like your blog post Doin' The Working Mom Thing and method of writing,
